The tower sits at around 1,900 metres elevation, close to facilities of the Austrian Alpine Club (Österreichischer Alpenverein, ÖAV), which supports the site.
Telescopes & research
Research here focuses on solar observation, capturing high-cadence full-disk images of the Sun at a rate of ten images per minute, on around 300 observing days each year, one of the mountain site's key advantages being its clear, high-altitude air.
