LiShan Observatory is a research station of China's National Time Service Center, part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, located near Xi'an in Shaanxi Province.
About LiShan Observatory
LiShan operates under the National Time Service Center (NTSC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, carrying the observatory code O85. Its work supports the NTSC's broader mission of maintaining and broadcasting China's standard time.
Telescopes & research
The site is equipped with a Rotating-drift-scan CCD (RDS CCD) system used to track fast-moving near-Earth asteroids, as well as a rubidium atomic clock used in quantum clock synchronisation experiments.
