KUSZA Observatory

KUSZA Observatory, formally Balai Cerap KUSZA, is located in Merang, Setiu, in the Malaysian state of Terengganu, and is run by Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA).

About KUSZA Observatory

The observatory is managed by the Institut Penyelidikan Alam Sekitar Pantai Timur (ESERI) and supports education alongside falak (Islamic astronomy) research, meteor observation, and eclipse observation. It is one of three Malaysian observatories used for crescent moon visibility analysis, work tied to the Islamic calendar. Its research also covers light pollution, sky brightness, and electromagnetic and radio astronomy.
