The observatory sits between the university's Center for University Community and the UDEM Preparatory School. Its main instrument is a Meade 16-inch LX200 telescope on an electronic altazimuth mount, and the facility can hold up to 80 people at once for group viewing sessions.

Telescopes & research

With its 16-inch telescope, the observatory is used to observe the Moon, planets, binary and multiple star systems, the Sun (using appropriate filters), and deep-sky objects such as clusters, galaxies, and nebulae.

The observatory is located on UDEM's San Pedro campus in the Monterrey metropolitan area of Mexico, integrated into the university's teaching facilities.
