BlueEye600 is a robotic telescope at Ondřejov Observatory, the principal observatory of the Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, about 35 kilometres southeast of Prague.
About Ondřejov--BlueEye600 Telescope observatory
Ondřejov Observatory is home to the largest telescope in the Czech Republic, a 2-metre instrument, alongside a range of smaller specialised telescopes including BlueEye600. BlueEye600 is a fully automatic, robotic Ritchey-Chrétien system with a 600mm primary mirror and a 3,000mm effective focal length, and is now operated by Charles University in Prague.
Telescopes & research
BlueEye600 is equipped with a focuser, a derotator, an off-axis guider with a filter wheel, and a main camera built around an E2V CCD chip. Its robotic operation makes it well suited to systematic survey work, and it has been used for asteroid observations and shape modelling based on lightcurve data.
