About Kosi Bird Observatory

Kosi Bird Observatory is Nepal's first and only bird observatory, established by Himalayan Nature, a non-profit research and conservation organisation. It also operates as a field education centre, based in Sunsari District in eastern Nepal.

Location & getting there

The observatory lies northeast of Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, Nepal's first Ramsar-listed wetland site, on what's described as a prime migratory corridor for birds crossing the region.
