Insperity observatory

Insperity Observatory is a public astronomy facility in Humble, Texas, run by Humble Independent School District for community stargazing and student education.

About Insperity Observatory

Located at 2505 S. Houston Ave in Humble, the observatory became fully operational in June 2009 under director Dr. Aaron Clevenson. Its mission is hands-on astronomy education for Humble ISD students and the wider community, staffed by volunteer astronomers who also pursue their own research.

Telescopes & research

Instruments on site include a 6-inch Takahashi refractor, a 16-inch telescope, and a 20-inch telescope, giving visitors a range of views from planets to deep-sky objects.

Visiting Insperity Observatory

Insperity Observatory opens to the public every first Friday of the month, and also hosts special sessions for solar eclipses, meteor showers and transits. Contact the observatory at (281) 641-7827 for current details before visiting.
