About Grainger Observatory

Grainger Observatory is operated by Phillips Exeter Academy. Its main instruments include a 0.70-metre PlaneWave CDK-700 Corrected Dall-Kirkham telescope and a Takahashi FRC-300 Flat Field Ritchey-Chretien telescope, supported by CCD imagers, photometers, spectrographs, and a heliostat for solar observing.

The observatory's instruments are used across three astronomy courses at the Academy, giving students hands-on experience with imaging, photometry, and spectroscopy alongside their coursework.
