About Tenagra Observatories

Incorporated in Oregon in 1992, Tenagra Observatories grew from a single site into a multi-continent network built around photometric and asteroid research. The Cottage Grove facility, established around 1998, uses a 14-inch Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with an SBIG CCD imager.

Telescopes & research

Across its network, Tenagra Observatories has focused on photometric studies, supernova detection, minor planet discovery, and variable star analysis, with research partnerships including Lick Observatory, the U.S. Naval Observatory, Caltech, Wesleyan University, and the University of North Carolina. Its Arizona site, Tenagra II, added a 32-inch Ritchey-Chrétien telescope operational since 2001.
