Oishi Kogen is a highland observation site on the Oishi Plateau in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, straddling the towns of Kimino and Aridagawa on the Kii Peninsula.
About Oishi Kogen Observatory
The plateau sits within a Prefectural Natural Park established in 1955 and rises to roughly 870 metres above sea level. It spans about 13 hectares of open grassland covered in susuki, Japanese pampas grass, giving the site its distinctive open character.

The observation deck is located at 899-29 Nakada in Kimino-cho, Wakayama Prefecture, on Japan's Kii Peninsula, and offers 360-degree panoramic views across the surrounding highlands.
Visiting Oishi Kogen Observatory
The site is open from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM daily, closed only on New Year's Day. Check current details before travelling, as hours can change.
