About Observeum
The museum side of Observeum holds the Netherlands' only large exhibition dedicated to the Middle Stone Age, alongside displays on 19th-century social contrasts between rich and poor, the ‘Golden Age of the Frisian farmer,’ the 20th-century sailing innovations of Hendrik Bulthuis, medieval monastic life, and local geology.
Telescopes & research
The observatory holds public stargazing sessions on Friday evenings, using telescopes alongside a digital planetarium. The planetarium runs two presentations daily in the afternoons, giving visitors two distinct ways to explore the sky, day or night.
