The Nahal Oz Observers Memorial Monument is a memorial site near Kibbutz Nahal Oz in southern Israel, dedicated to the memory of the female IDF observer soldiers killed defending the base during the October 7, 2023 attack.
About the Nahal Oz Observers Memorial Monument
This is a memorial site rather than an astronomical observatory. It commemorates the observer soldiers stationed at the Nahal Oz military outpost who were killed during the attack of October 7, 2023, alongside colleagues who were taken captive. The memorial was established with the involvement of the observers' families, the “Fields Instead of Fences” organisation, the IDF and volunteers from Sapir College.
Location
The memorial stands near Kibbutz Nahal Oz, in southern Israel close to the Gaza border, at the site associated with the former observation outpost.
Visiting the Memorial
As a memorial in a sensitive border area, visiting arrangements and access may be restricted or subject to change; anyone wishing to visit should check current guidance before travelling.
Naming a star in someone's memory
