On the San Bernardo hill above Lumezzane in Italy's Brescia province, the Osservatorio Astronomico Serafino Zani opens its dome to the public through the summer, run by an amateur astronomy association with the sky as its classroom.
About Lumezzane observatory
Officially named the Osservatorio Astronomico Serafino Zani, the observatory stands on San Bernardo hill at Via Bosca 24 in Lumezzane, Brescia province, Italy. It is part of the Serafino Zani Research and Study Centre and includes a planetarium that shares its premises with the “Museo delle costellazioni” (Museum of Constellations).
Telescopes & research
The observatory and its associated centre are managed by Unione Astrofili Bresciani, an amateur astronomy association based in Brescia, combining public outreach with astronomical study.

Visiting Lumezzane observatory
The observatory opens to the public from May to September, on Saturdays at 9:00 PM (except the last Saturday of each month). Visits are free but require a reservation. It is also open by reservation for school groups, organised groups and summer centres.
