Binnhill Tower is a Gothic-style stone tower built as a private observatory on Binn Hill near Kinfauns, in Perth and Kinross, Scotland.

About Binnhill Tower

The tower was completed in 1813 for Francis Gray, 14th Lord Gray, and designed so he could look out over the River Tay and the Lomond Hills from Binn Hill, at the centre of Binn Wood. It stands around 0.4 miles east of Kinfauns Castle and is protected today as a Category B listed structure.

History

Built in the early 19th century in a romantic Gothic style, the tower reflects a period when wealthy landowners commissioned purpose-built follies and observatories to take in dramatic views of the surrounding countryside.
