About Warren Rupp Observatory

The observatory is owned and operated by the Richland Astronomical Society, a volunteer group dedicated to astronomy education and outreach in north-central Ohio. It was built in 1985 and has since become a hub for public stargazing in the region.

History

Since opening in 1985, the observatory has grown into the showpiece of the annual Hidden Hollow star party, drawing amateur astronomers to the Friendly House site for organised observing under Ohio's countryside skies.
