About Montcabrer Observatory
The observatory is operated by R. Naves and holds Minor Planet Center code 213. It sits at roughly 120 metres elevation, close to the Mediterranean coast just north of Barcelona.
Telescopes & research
Montcabrer's main instrument is a 30cm f/6 Meade LX-200 telescope, giving a field of view of about 26.3 by 17.5 arcminutes at a scale of 1.03 arcseconds per pixel, paired with an SBIG ST-8 CCD camera. The observatory contributes optical and near-infrared imaging to international astronomy campaigns and participates in the Observadores de Supernovas (ObSN) network.
