Indian Hill North Observatory

Indian Hill North Observatory is a community observatory in Huntsburg Township, Ohio, built and run by the Chagrin Valley Astronomical Society for both research and public stargazing.

About Indian Hill North Observatory

Set on a 12-acre site at 15735 Huntley Road, the observatory is home to the Chagrin Valley Astronomical Society (CVAS). Construction began in May 1978, with most of the major work completed by 1983. The site includes a 32 x 16-foot main building with an insulated warm room, plus a separate roll-off roof telescope room with phone, internet and network access.

Telescopes & research

Instruments on site include a 16-inch Newtonian telescope housed in the roll-off roof building, a 14-inch Dobsonian on a moveable platform, and an 8-inch Schmidt camera.
