Ecological and Citizen Transition Côte d'Azur observatory

The Ecological and Citizen Transition Côte d'Azur observatory, known as OTECCA, is a research initiative based at Université Côte d'Azur in Nice, France, founded in 2020.

About OTECCA

OTECCA is not an astronomical observatory but an interdisciplinary "observatory" in the social-science sense, studying socio-ecological transition across the Alpes-Maritimes region. It brings together researchers, association representatives and student organisation representatives, promoting collaboration between the scientific community and civil society through a participatory research approach. Its work touches on agriculture, food, culture, democracy, education, energy, environment, housing, health, solidarity and transportation.

History

The observatory was established in 2020 by Université Côte d'Azur, with its institutional structure emerging from a 2018 event co-organised with Synergie de la Transition 06.
